In order to renew your license you will need 40 hours of Continuing Education every two years.  The date of your renewal is same date as when your license was issued. 

Here you will find the forms you need to renew your license. As a courtesy, the Board will mail these to you approximately 60 days prior to your renewal date, to the address on file.  Please make sure you update your address with the NCALB. 

Within these forms are the rules and regulations which govern renewal of licenses in NC.  There you will find the breakdown of the 40 hours needed to renew.  Please keep in mind that all courses should either be pre-approved by the NCALB or be approved by one of the listed organizations in the rules and regulations.  Twenty-five (25) hours must be obtained from foramlly organized courses which have content relating to the scope of "practice of acupunture" as defined by G.S 90-451(3); the remaining 15 hours may be earned through courses which have content relating to any health service and are relevants to the practice of acupuncture. 

Below you will also find the forms that need to be submitted to the Board for pre-approval of a CEU course. Please note the two separate forms, one for a Provider of a CEU course and one for an individual to obtain pre-approval for a CEU course that is not already approved or sanctioned by one of the organizations listed in the current rules and regulations.
